A walk through town...

I'm just back from a walk in town, and the whole city centre was packed with people... I took afew photos on the way back, close to my appartment. It was a long time since I saw a Citroen 2cv!

Again some pictures from yesterday (yes, more boats!), but this time in B&W. Today's actually as grey as yesterday, but even though the rain could be imminent, I think I'll chance it and go out in quest for more photos.

A day in Howth...

Today was quite pleasant even though it was cloudy and coming to September I may not see many Saturdays without rain (a bit pessimist I know). Well, here are some shots I took around the harbour in Howth.

Connemara... in B&W

That's a photo taken in the west of Ireland. It's normally very green but I prefer it in B&W. It look rainy and empty, which ismore or less the truth really. I think there are more sheep than peole in thois region of Ireland.

Alright, now I started with the photos from the Commitments... this is the guitarist, also sings.

This one was taken the same day as the one below. I prefer this shot in B&W and would have prefered more intensity in the singer's face but at least the singing was good.

Singing... the Commitments

This is a shot I took last year, shortly after receiving my SLR. This was taken at the Commitments concert in Merrion Square, Dublin. I changed most of the shots that day to B&W but for this one it didn't seem right.

Sailing...

I just found that picture I took last year somewhere south of Dublin. I really likt the colour and the fact that it looks relaxing. The boat really comes out in this blue background.

I want to start entering some competitions in order to keep my motivation and make some progress. The competition I want to enter is organised by Digital Camera Magazine (http://poty2008.dcmag.co.uk/3913562628353997603/2007winners.html). I have low expectations about the results but that way I can't be disappointed. Does anybody know some competitions to enter?

Also, please don't hesitate to comment and share your pictures with me. I'd really like to start practicing on portraits but it's not easy to find the model for it, most people don't like to be photographed!
